"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime."

I wonder what Mark Twain would think of the travel experience today - places like Heathrow airport and long waits for security checks. Knowing Twain it would be something to write home about (email, tweet!). Would so much love to see him operating in this century! Imagine his Facebook page! Perhaps he would despair.
Good quote.
It certainly would be fascinating to see what he would have to say about our modern world. His Facebook page... love that idea!
