I have been thinking a lot about travel lately Judy - music that is popular at the time living in another land, health and its influence on stamina, the actual season you see a country, and the fact that you are always so frustratingly close to somewhere else interesting but have to come home. Australia is so far from anywhere if you discount New Zealand and Indonesia - the majority of our ancestry of course does not come from these places but way, way up in the Northern hemispheres, our DNA heritage transplanted down here. I relate to those who feel the call to travel irresistible. Love the quote.
Pam, I have always had a curiosity about other places and how people live in different parts of the world. The first time I read this quote, it made perfect sense to me.
A lovely quote, Judy, but having travelled (a reasonable amount - still so many places to see!) I find that what I really want, more than anything else in the world, is just to stay at home.....
