We are having a winter storm. I am stuck in the house. Things are bad outside. Roads are closed, with flocks of trucks parked on them. They can't go anywhere. Malls are closed; universities are closed. They are telling people to stay off the roads. There is a layer of snow, then a layer of ice, then another layer of snow on top of that. Tree branches are breaking, taking power lines with them. It's getting colder and the wind is picking up.

Well, I can understand it would be frustrating to be stuck inside, but it looks beautiful :)
Yes, it is pretty, and I don't really mind being stuck inside. I have everything I need and my power (thank goodness) hasn't gone out.
I have a fire in the fireplace and the tea kettle on the stove, and three cats to keep me company.
I look at snow days the same as rainy days. Good days to putter and cocoon. I drove into town and shovelled a neighbour's walk. I feel badly for those who cannot. I like to shovel, now that I do not have to go out to work! I put on my snowshoes and walked across the frozen. Bizarre feeling! You just have to embrace the moment!
We were relatively lucky. We kept our power but lost our phone, internet, and TV.
HI Judy,
I'm checking on you.
You're further south than us and much more snow than we got.
What about power outages?
I hope things are looking up for you and am thinking of you.

Hi Mim,
I am in Philadelphia for the weekend, visiting friends. I am happy to be here and will write more when I get home on monday. Thanks for checking in!
Judy. I wonder if you even have power. I have heard lots of *Kentucky weather* news and none of it sounds very warm and fuzzy.
Be safe and snug and know that I am thinking of you.
Aha!
So I see you are out of town... I hope it's the safer-funner place to be!
