Have You Read This Book?

Three Cups of Tea came out in paperback quite a while ago. I had passed it by many times in the bookstore without taking particular note of it. Then I saw a feature about it on the news, and decided to pick it up and read it. Now I am hooked. It's a wonderful, amazing true story. If you haven't read it, I hope you will.

It's the true story of the man in the photo above, Greg Mortenson, an American mountain climber who became a humanitarian. He began as a mountain climber, traveling to central Asia to climb K2. His attempt at K2 failed, but he was rescued and taken to a remote village in Pakistan. He befriended the people in the village, and the rest of the story goes from there. As you read the book you can't help but fall in love with this man. It's a fascinating story.

Yes, I have read this book. A couple of years ago. Proof once again that one person can make a huge difference in the lives of others. Did you know that the government of Pakistan is now consulting Mr. Mortenson about education and school construction?
