Now She's Hearing Voices

My sister just called. She has brought our mom home from the hospital. The neurologist okayed her to be released.

There has been a new development, though. Now she says she's "hearing voices". Specifically, voices singing things like "Battle Hymn of the Republic". What on earth can that mean?

Don't you wish Google could answer questions like these? Hopefully she can regain her sense of comfort and functioning. Strokes are no small matter.
Take care, Judy.

I guess there are some questions Google can't handle, right? Thanks Natalie.

Auditory hallucinations? I remember my aunt and mom having some strange things going on. Also, sometimes a urinary tract infections- which surely she doesn't have if released from the hospital- can have some really strange effects especially on the elderly. Been through this with my aunt and mom too.

Being elderly is a struggle... both for the elderly and their loved ones.

The brain plays funny tricks, and sounds like hers has had a bit of a hard time of it lately. I hope things settle down - very disorientating for her. She must have felt very special indeed with her recent birthday celebrations.

I think she did, Pam. She said, " the whole hospital is celebrating my birthday!".

That's sweet (about the hospital celebrating her birthday). I'm glad she was released.
