Maybe it DOES Work!

A couple of weeks ago I sent a $100 donation to Salvation Army. I thought about it for a while, not sure whether or not I could afford it. Then I sent it, and I felt good about it.

Yesterday, we were consigning some chairs that we could no longer use. After the consignment store took their cut, we would have netted only a small amount for them. As we were carrying them in, another couple was just coming in the door. They looked at our chairs and asked if we would be interested in selling them directly to them instead of consigning them. Their daughter just bought a new table and they wanted to give them to her for Christmas, as they would go perfectly with her new table. They gave us $100 for the chairs! So, in a way, it came back to me.

My grandmother, a generous soul, always used to say that if you gave with one hand you'd receive with the other....

That is wonderful!

I donate monthly to our local food bank, and loathe these Christmas rushes to have people donate. They need a steady income.

Cheers from Cottage Country!

I donate all year round to animal charities such as the Humane Society and Ally Cat Allies. The animals get most of my donations.
