Moving Forward
If only it were that easy!
We are still working on moving. We have a house in Kentucky and a new condo in the Philly area. We have been going back and forth, delivering supplies to the new condo, but we are still living in our Kentucky house. It will have to be sold eventually, but I'm finding it difficult to let it go. I always manage to put down roots.
We have a social network in Philly, where we lived for sixteen years. We have friends there with whom we have travelled, to France, to Italy, to Israel, and to many Caribbean Islands. We go back for birthdays and weddings. Our family is here, however. I wish we could live close to both family and friends.
It's a process, an ongoing process. We are taking our time, living in two places at once. I feel like we have one foot in Kentucky and the other foot in Philly.
So will you just live in 2 places till you sell the house?
ReplyDeleteThat's basically what we are doing, but it's a ten hour drive from one to the other so It's not easy. We have to sell the house soon though, can't keep paying for both!
ReplyDeleteSorry it can't be both ways. But I must say... The next chapter sounds like a good one! (((Hugs))) in support of you, and all the inevitable bumps in the road.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your hugs and support, Natalie. It does make me feel more calm and optimistic.
ReplyDeleteMid-move jitters? Once you've said goodbye to the old house, it will get so much better, and you can make those ten-hour trips for lovely family trips instead! Best wishes for your new life.
ReplyDeleteThank you for those words, Rachel. They do ring true.
