Home Again!

We just got home from Hawaii. Yesterday, we left the Big Island on Alaska Airlines at 1:10 in the afternoon and got to San Jose, California at 9:30 last night. We slept there until 5:00 this morning, took another Alaska Airlines flight from San Jose to Los Angeles. We waited in Los Angeles from 9:30 a.m. till noon. Our final leg of the trip got us home at 7:00 this evening. It's a lot of flying. We traveled three time zones at a time, six altogether.

I've decided we need to stay longer when we go to Hawaii. A week just isn't enough. By the time I adjust to the six hour time difference and begin to get a little color on my white, pasty skin it's time to come home again. It is beautiful though, and I will take a week if that's all I can get.

This was our fourth trip to the Big Island. Every time we go we discover new places to explore. If you want a sunny beach, it's there. If you want a lush rain forest, it's there. If you want to see lava flowing from a volcano, it's there. If you want to see a snowy mountain top, it's there too. They say it has at least a dozen "micro-climates" all on one island. There are ranches and pastures and forests and gardens. It's a fascinating place. I haven't uploaded my photos yet... I will do that over the next couple of days.
