How did I do today on my new healthier, sugarless diet?
For breakfast, I had some Greek yogurt with fruit. I sprinkled some flaxseeds on top.
Then, for lunch, I made lentil soup. Lentils, carrots, onions, celery, tomatoes, vegetable broth. The recipe made a lot, so I will have it all weekend.
We are going out for dinner tonight, so I will have to study the menu carefully. Oh, and I bought some almonds for snacking.
Well, that looks a very good start. I'm glad to hear about the almonds. It took me a little while to think of them but they are now a staple and very good for keeping hunger at bay. All the best.
ReplyDeleteSmart food.
ReplyDeleteI need to join you!
i think in restaurants they put sugar in everything, so you could ask them to leave it out...
ReplyDeleteWhen you begin reading labels, you find out there is sugar in almost everything. It's hard to avoid.
ReplyDeleteyeah, i guess it is even in fruit. i heard HFCS is much worse though.
ReplyDeleteArthur Ransome, there was an article in last Sunday's New York Times magazine about a British author with your name. Are you his namesake? He wrote "Swallows and Amazons" but of course you probably already know that.
ReplyDeleteThat all looks yummy and not at all "Diet-y".
ReplyDeleteAnd lentils are very good . They help you keep your blood sugar level , which seems to be a good thing diet-wise .
Good Luck !
I'm finding out that "diety-y" can be yummy... thank goodness!
