Politics = Insanity
I am boycotting politics! I can't take it any more. "Mommy Wars"; Birtherism; "Socialist"; "Communist"; Obamacare; Romneycare; 99% vs. 1%; tea party; Etch-a-Sketch!
It's ALL spin! I don't believe any of it anymore. I hate labels (see all the above). Labels obviate intelligent discussion. No one is sharing ideas; everyone just throws epithets and names at each other. I've heard it all before and it will never stop. It makes me want to move to another country, but it's probably the same wherever you go... the "us vs. them" mentality. It all comes down to power, religion and money. Greed and corruption.
There are so many people who are sincere, who want to help solve real problems, who are empathetic and compassionate. I want to see stories about them. None of these people are politicians. I'm tired of hearing from and about politicians. I'm tired of hearing about celebrities and how many millions their homes cost and how many times they have been divorced and what they are wearing this season. REAL PEOPLE are out there; they are the ones I care about. I find many of them writing on blogs. People who care about animals, who care about their children, who care about their communities. Those are my people.
I'm with you.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a weekend like an open window... bringing in a fresh, clean breeze!
I will, Natalie. I'm looking forward to the weekend. You are one of the good ones.
ReplyDeleteWell, at least Santorum is out of the race.
ReplyDeleteI know! That made me very happy.
ReplyDeleteEven the best politicians must have access to information that we would be horrified if we knew. I think it suits them to distract us with all the hype, bells and whistles and warm 'feel good' factors.
ReplyDeleteI think the wise public are clued-up to their hypocrisy on a world-wide political front, but democracies fare better than most.
There will always be people prepared to jump through hoops for their favourite political party and I've never been able to work that out either.
I look at people's hearts and true intentions, and that's a worry in politics!
I agree with you about democracies. I'm afraid ours is being contaminated with too much influence from big money interests, such as oil companies, war profiteers and dishonest financiers.
