I'm having a problem with my "social media" sites. One has taken over the other. It involves facebook and Huffington Post.
I've been on facebook for a while now, and everything was going fine. It was a good way to keep up with out-of-town friends and family.
I've also had a profile on Huffington Post for a while. It was a good place to read news articles and blogs, to see comments others make, and to add comments of my own. The two were separate; I went to one for family and friends, and to the other for news. But now, there is a problem. I liked one particular story on Huffington Post and wanted to share it on my facebook page, so I clicked on a link. Now I can't get Huffington Post off my facebook page. Each time I go to facebook there are numerous stories from Huffington Post there. I have to search through them to find anything from friends or family.
I have tried to "unlink" them, but it hasn't worked. They have instructions, but it asks for a password and when I enter my password it wants to delete my entire account. Does anyone out there know how this works? I want my facebook back the way it was!
There's a message in there somewhere.....
ReplyDelete(But then I'm deeply prejudiced against Facebook.)
I like your answer, Rachel. Maybe it means I need to spend more time away from the computer!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Rachel - never been bitten by the facebook, or twitter bugs
ReplyDeleteYou and Rachel are wise women! I have facebook at the insistence of my nieces and my Philadelphia friends, but don't have the faintest clue about twitter.
ReplyDeleteGo to account settings and find linked accounts. You can unlink this.
ReplyDeleteI am fed up with the social marketers. They get you eery way they can....
good luck!
Hi Judy, first of all, I wish you a Happy New Year and that you come closer to your dream to live in a tropical place :)) I stop by your blog every day, but don't comment that often.
ReplyDeleteAbout your problem on FB. Go with the cursor to the "Huffington Post" post on your FB site. A triangle, pointing downward, will appear on the right side. If you click that triangle, it will open a drop down menu offering different choices what to do.
If you click "Hide all by ......" you won't find any posts from the Huffington Post on your FB site anymore.
Everytime you "Like" something on FB, in your case, The Huffington Post, you will receive in your "Feed" everything that is posted on their FB site.
I hope it helps and was not to confusing. ;)
Jenn, I know, we have to try to have some control!
ReplyDeleteKathrin, thanks for commenting; I'm glad to know you have been visiting. I will look for that triangle and use it... I appreciate your detailed instructions.
