KATIE: She's a Maine Coon cat. She comes from Lancaster County, PA. She moved with us here to Kentucky. She's a bit of a diva.
TIGER: He and his sister, Tinkerbell, were feral kittens who came to us in our back yard. He is my "zen" cat; quiet and laid back. He has beautiful blue-green eyes and often appears to be thinking deep thoughts.
TINKERBELL: Tiger's sister, formerly a feral kitten, who adopted us. She is sweet and a bit klutzy.
MUNCHKIN: Our most recent adoptee, also formerly a feral kitten. Right now she's a little ball of fire, running, jumping and getting into mischief.
I'd be interested to know if your ferals ran away from you for ages if you approached them, despite being able to take food from your hand, pounce on your feet under the bedclothes, follow you round the house? Will mine ever allow me to hold them? Sigh..... they are lovely, but they aren't easy....
ReplyDeleteEach is different, but in general they will let us hold them when it is THEIR idea. If we approach them they scoot away, but they will come to us voluntarily. (See more details in my email to you.) Good luck!
ReplyDeleteYour kitties are adorable. One of mine was rescued from under a relative's house and the other was living in the fields behind my house before she adopted us. They are all unique in their own way and have so much personality.
